Designs
There are more than 50 associations and enterprises among constant customers of institute’s projects.
The great number of up-to-date productions were put into operation on the basis of Kazgiprotsvetmet’s projects. There are no analogs of these projects with respect to technical and economical, production and ecological parameters in the world. The advanced methods of ore production and dressing, pellets and briquettes production, metals recovery are introduced into the projects by the institute’s specialists.
There are some instances of the largest projects of Kazgiprotsvetmet (starting from 2000):
 АО «Кazzinc»
Specialists of Kazgiprotsvetmet carried out the work on the ore base reinforcement for AO “Kazzinc” in short times:
- Project and working drawings for the construction and extension of the important raw materials source – Mine of Maleyevsk of Zyryanovsk mining and processing complex;
- Revaluation of reserves and the project of tunneling of Tyshinsk’s mine; the project of the development of Ridder - Sokoljny ore deposit;
- Technical and economical calculation for the development of Novo-Leninogorsky, Obruchevsky and Dolinny deposits of Ridder mining and processing complex etc.
Kazakhstan mint
National bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan ordered the project for the construction of the up-to-date plant for the production of high quality products necessary for the country (coins, government awards, souvenirs etc).
АО «SSGPO»
SSGPO is a mining and processing production association, one of the largest producers of raw materials for ferrous metallurgy.
The following works were done by Kazgiprotsvetmet in close cooperation with the Kazakhstan national center on complex mineral raw processing, “Hyproruda” institute (Russia) and customer for SSGPO:
- The scheme of the development of AO “SSGPO” raw material base for further
20 years on basis of advanced technologies and equipment.
- Designs to increase the capacity of mine.
- The project of the expansion of the concentration plant is in progress now.
- The construction of pellets production plant is in perspective now.
Donskoi ore dressing and processing enterprise (TNK «Кazkhrom»)
Kazgiprotsvetmet have developed and realized unique projects for DGOK:
- Chromitite underground mining at a depth of one kilometer. Designers used the methods specially designed for complicated mining and geological conditions named as “The system of controllable block caving”.
Computer programs of production planning, normalization of loss and dilution when ore development along with programs of vertical shaft equipment and lining calculations developed by designers of Kazgiprotsvetmet and Donskoy GOK are successfully used at working sites.
Institute’s specialists fulfill the projects on the development and mining of under-quarry reserves for the purpose of 100% utilization of depths.
Ready plants:
- Pellets production plant that has not analogs in the world. The advanced technology of “Outotec” company (Finland) was used in this project.
- Fine chromitite concentration shop according to the technology of Germany Company «AKW».
Under the construction: modular plant according to the technology of «Intertec» company (England-Russia), the extension of fine ore production is in progress now.
Under the designing: another production shop according to the technology of «Оutotec» company (Finland).
Under the planning: the fulfillment of new promising projects in cooperation with our customer and leading home and foreign companies.
Mining and processing enterprise «50 years of october»
Kazgiprotsvetmet have developed the technological regulations and the project for TOO “Copper Technology” of Aktyubinsk copper company (branch of Russian copper company) in short terms. Institute worked jointly with the customer, “Outokumpu” company (Finland), scientific production association “Polymetal” and others.
The project provides with the effective technical solutions regarding the combined method of deposits development and copper pyrite ores concentration.
On September 7th, 2006 the commencement meeting of the complex took place in the presence of the president of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The projects of two up-to-date concentration plants have been fulfilled together with «Outotec» company (Finland), the developer of the technology and principal equipment supplier. Plants are under the operation now.
Lisakovsk mining and processing enterprise (TOO “ORKEN”)
Institute developed software, created Lisakovsk’s deposit electronic database and composed the model of deposit and plotted digital simulation of the reserves extraction process. Schedule diagrams of ore recovery for the period of 2005-2016 were composed using these developments. For the best results, 5 -25 variants were calculated to choose the optimal one.
Integrated program concerning the safe mining works execution and the minimization of harmful environmental impact caused by production activity was designed as well.
The shop of scavenging and iron ore concentration was constructed at the concentration plant in 2005-2007. The project had been developing in cooperation with the central laboratory of plant based on unique technology that combined the processes of concentration, pyrometallurgy, and hydrometallurgy.
Guidelines, consultations, the equipment of research institutes, companies and plants of Kazakhstan, USA, England, Russia and other countries were used in project.
Zhairem ore mining and processing enterprise
Kazgiprotsvetmet have carried out and realized the project “Open pit mining of iron-manganese deposit “Ushkatyn-III” and feasibility study of investments for the creation of mining and metallurgical production based on the complex ores of Zhairem GOK.
Sary arka spetscoke
The own coke production was created in Kazakhstan according to Kazgiprotsvetmet’s projects. It is for the first time in our country:
In 2005-2006 the pilot plant for the spetscoke production using coal from Shubarkol pit was manufactured and put into operation.
Institute fulfils working documentation for the construction of phenol water and coke oven gases utilization (burning) plant that is necessary for the environmental protection problem solving. Number of companies from Ukraine are involved to fulfill this project.
Aksu ferroalloy works (AO “TNK “Kazkhrom”)
In 2007, the following objects were put into operation in accordance with “Kazgiprotsvetmet” projects:
- New smelting furnace. It is capable of smelting the different raw materials. This project was executed with smelter manufacturers i.e. NTF “EKTA” (Moscow city), “Sibelektroterm” (Novosibirsk city).
- Charge storage. It can provide the feed, storage and transfer of chrome containing raw material (pellets from Donskoy GOK), and charge material for ferroalloy production.
In cooperation with ZAO “Promelectronika” company (Moscow city) the Automatic process control system of storage, included into Automatic process control system of whole plant was successfully developed.
- Coke production using Ekibastuz coal of “Vostochny” pit. Developments of China companies on stove kilns production (China, Urumqi) were used and modified as well. Smokestacks of ZAO “Bashteplomontazh” (Ufa city, Russia) were used for furnace outgassing.
Аktyubinsk ferroalloy works (AO “TNK “Kazkhrom”)
The construction project of waste treatment plant i.e. disintegrating slag of refined ferrochrome was implemented for the purpose of the recovery of metals from slag and ferrochrome recycling, building materials production, improvements of industrial sanitation conditions and ecology. Breakthrough technology of Ural metals institute was introduced into design.
«Кazakhmys» corporation
As per the project of the development of bottom levels of “Orlovskoye” deposit (Zhezkent mining and processing enterprise). Applicable technology: drift using self-propelled equipment. Specialists of institute have designed non-standard equipment – skip with gate of 7 m3 capacity.
Balkhash zinc plant of “Kazakhmys” corporation is operating successfully over 5 years. Commencement meeting was hold in the presence of Nursultan Nazarbayev, the president of Kazakhstan. Kazgiprotsvetmet introduced the advanced technologies of autoclave leaching (Canadian company «Dynatek») and cleaning of solutions and electrolysis (“VNIItsvetmet” institute) into its design. It was for the first time in CIS.
The up-to-date equipment of foreign companies from Canada, Finland, Germany, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine was used for this project. Unique production ensures the high quality zinc output and meets the environmental protection requirements.
Advanced technologies were introduced into gold-mining enterprises according to Kazgiprotsvetmet’s project:
Suzdal mining and processing complex of financial investment company “Alel”; Bakyrchick mining venture; “Zhanan” deposit of “Altyn-Tobe” mining and ore company; “Yuzhno-Tokhtarovskoye” deposit of Kostanai complex geological and ecological expedition etc.
ТОО «SBS Steel»
Metallurgical complex is under the construction in Aktyubinsk region now. The technology of steel smelting production was used during this project realization. It was developed by the ferrous metallurgy planning and research institute of China (Beijing);
TOO “SHALKIYA ZINC LTD”
The modern project for TOO “SHALKIYA ZINC LTD” on the construction of underground mine at the deposit of Shalkiya is under the development now. The construction of new zinc plant is planning now.
Nickel works of Badamshinsk
Institute is carrying out the working project on the processing of oxidized nickel ores of “Kimpersai” deposit in Aktyubinsk region based on advanced technologies and up-to-date equipment.
Russian organizations such as Moscow institute of steel and alloys (MISiS) – the developer of the technology, Uralenergotsvet (Yekaterinburg city), supplier of the main equipment etc. were involved to project fulfillment.
Non-ferrous metals processing works of yekaterinburg
In 2007 Kazgiprotsvetmet carried out the work design of modernization and transfer of OAO “Non-ferrous metals processing works of Yekaterinburg” from the center of Yekaterinburg to Verkhnyaya Pyshma town.
This is the unique enterprise indeed. It is an owner of numerous advanced technologies. The plant is specialized on the production of fine metals of platinum metal, gold, silver, their alloys and products.
Modernization of the production will permit to provide the plant with the up-to-date equipment on the one hand, and to comply with all necessary ecological protection requirements on the other hand.
Designing work had been carrying out in a close creative cooperation with the client, research institute “Ural institute of metals”.
Russian copper company
As a general designer Kazgiprotsvetmet fulfilled working documentation for the construction of copper smelting plant of «Ausmelt» complex at the oldest copper smelting plant of “ZAO “Karabashmedj” in 2005 – 2006.
Kilns («Ausmelt» technology) are functioning at the plants of leading companies all over the world, including such companies as Anglo American, Rio Tinto, Alcoa, Anglo Platinum, Korea Zinc, Aditya Birla, Metaleurop, Anhui Tongdu, Gold Fields.
It is a single complex in Russia. In 2006, the commissioning of Ausmelt complex led to the improvement of the ecological situation in region.
ZAO “Karabashmedj” became a new effective and environmentally conscious metallurgical enterprise after the reconstruction that complies with European standards.
ОАО «Uralmekhanobr» (UGMK-HOLDING)
Kazgiprotsvetmet together with OAO “Uralmekhanobr” carried out the feasibility study of investments for the development of construction project of OOO “Uralzinc” zinc plant (cell plant, cathode melting shop, roasting shop).
